THE WORLD'S first rear vision in-helmet manufacturer is set for global success, after accessing support that has put the business in the fast lane. County Durham based REEVU, established in 1999, has seen an increase in sales over the past year, thanks to support from the North East Business Support Fund that helped the business produce graphic designs to elevate their marketing, and put their products firmly in the public domain.
The innovative safety product has seen sales across Asia, the US and Canada, and Europe increase, after using the funding, accessed with help from NBSL, to create materials that bring to life their technology based product. The North East Business Support Fund is an ERDF initiative that provides 40 per cent funding - up to £1400 - towards a project worth up to £3500.
Mark Steele, production director at REEVU, said: "The team at NBSL were fantastic to work with. We've been involved with a number of support initiatives in the past, but NBSL helped to open a number of doors for us and pointed us in directions we hadn't been before. They really helped us to get talking to the right people.
"Funding tends to be a nightmare for small and medium-sized businesses like ours but the process was so easy with the support from NBSL."
REEVU sells thousands of its innovative helmets worldwide. The technology is leading the way in safer driving for motorcyclists, with the addition of rear vision motorcyclists can keep their attention fully on the road.
Mark added: "Thanks to NBSL's support, we're one big step closer to reaching our goal of being a globally recognised brand. The North East has great links and some of the best innovations in the world and we wanted to follow those footsteps."
