Following a successful pilot of the Bitesize Business Sessions at Consett, NBSL are now rolling out their workshop programme across Durham.

New for 2020, a series of short sessions have now been developed exclusively for County Durham SME businesses to help improve their know-how on a range of business basics.  The sessions, fully funded from the North East Business Support Fund, can cater for up to 10 people per workshop and are currently set to run until March 2020 and include topics such as ‘Pitch Perfect – Understanding the Importance of Sales Pitch Planning’; ‘Finding – and Keeping – Customers’; and ‘Understanding the Customer Experience’.

Workshops will be taking place at the new Enterprise House (Seaham),  Innovation House (Bishop Auckland) and will continue to programme workshops at Viewpoint in Consett.  The full programme can be seen at www.nbsl.org.uk/bitesize-durham.

With the North East Business Support Fund programme in its final year, NBSL have been able to look at how they can make sure they support businesses quickly and provide aspirational sessions that could lead to the development of growth plans or projects that could receive up to 40% funding.

John Atkinson, Business Funding Adviser for County Durham said: “We know that time and knowledge are two of the biggest pressures facing small and medium-sized businesses, so these short sessions are designed to allow business owners and managers enhance their knowledge without being away from their day-to-day roles for too long.  We have chosen the inspirational setting of Enterprise House as it matched the aspirational themes throughout this programme.

“Places are limited and uptake has been excellent, so we would encourage anyone who is interested to sign up now via our website – www.nbsl.org.uk/bitesize-durham. “

The inaugural round of funding – the North East Business Support Fund - was launched in 2012, since then NBSL has provided funding and support to businesses from an array of sectors spanning all corners of the region with a recent impact report finding that the fund has yielded an impressive £4.40 economic boost for every £1 invested.
