The University of Sunderland is in their 10th consecutive year of offering the very popular ERDF funded Graduate Internship Scheme; and they’ve just extended the scheme for a further 2 years now running until 2023!

The extended scheme continues to be a cost effective way of growing your team and supporting your business through employing a university graduate on a 12 month contract. As a successful SME joining the scheme you will receive ERDF funding towards a graduate's salary - you’ll pay a minimum of £18,000 per annum to your intern and the scheme will offer a subsidy of £4,500 in total.

You'll gain access to the University’s recruitment specialists who will provide support with writing the job advert, they will advertise the role across many channels to gain as much exposure as possible, help with shortlisting and setting up interviews and a member of the team can even provide support on the interview panel if required.

  • Free recruitment service to help you identify the best fit for your vacancy.
  • Funding - £4,500 towards the salary of the new staff member.
  • Eligible candidates must have a minimum of degree level qualification and finished their studies within the last 5 years.
  • Minimum of £18,000 salary on a 12-month employment contract (£13,500 after the funding has been paid).
