Following the recent retention of the ISO 9001 and Customer First award, we are delighted to announce that we are to receive an Advanced Award of the North of Tyne Combined Authority’s Good Work Pledge.

Launched in 2020 the North of Tyne Good Work Pledge enables businesses to work towards and be acknowledged for the ‘Good Work’ they provide for both their current and future workforce.

We’re thrilled and honoured to announce that NBSL have now been awarded this accolade at advanced level showing a true commitment to our employees, the community and the customers we serve.

Having provided evidence that met the five pillars of good practice, we’re now appealing to businesses across the North of Tyne business landscape to join us highlighting the importance of good working practices.  The five pillars include:

  • Promoting Health & Wellbeing
  • Developing a Balanced Workforce
  • Valuing and Rewarding our Workforce
  • Effective Communications
  • Demonstrating a Social Responsibility

The NBSL family culture has embedded these 5 pillars into every activity across the business.  With a vision and mission delivered by every one of our team, we’ve created an environment together that enables each of us to feel safe, respected and above all feel motivated and valued.  Teamwork makes the dream work as the motto goes.

With flexible working patterns and an empathetic approach - crucial over the past year – we’ve always helped our staff to balance their work and personal lives – knowing that our caring touch provides the comfort, care and support to help productivity and encourage loyalty.  We’re big enough to deliver significant support programmes but small enough to understand the importance of care and the personal touch.

Processes and procedures are instrumental to how we manage our customer journey but we also acknowledge the importance of consultation, engagement and perceived ownership of our processes - which is why we actively encourage employees to participate in evolving our working day – ensuring safe working methods and a regard for the welfare of themselves and others.

Our carbon footprint has always been an important part of our world – whether identifying ways of how to deliver our services sustainably or how we can embrace digital technology to improve our business operational effectiveness.  Dealing with so many businesses across the North East, if our working practices can inspire ….or our funds can help create a better – more sustainable – working environments, we’re over the moon!
